Lets face it, when was the last time that you looked at your credit report? If you are anything like us, it may have been a good 5-7 years since you have actually looked at a credit report to see how you stand. We sat down with Rodney Nickens Sr and got to see the inner workings and the complex world of credit repair. We hope you find this information useful!

Q: What is your name and what do you do?

A: Rodney Nickens Sr and I help people restore there credit.  Which in turn helps them get a new outlook on life.  The title that is on my card is Credit Restoration Specialist.

Q: When you were a kid, that’s what you wanted to be, huh?

A: No, actually I wanted to be a doctor.  I wanted to help people, so I guess I’m going that work, just in a different way.

Q: What is the name of your company and how long have you been helping people restore there credit?

A: United Credit Education Services and I have been with them for 2-1/2 years now.

Q: What does a credit restoration specialist do, exactly?

A: Well, what we do is we find individuals, or they find us, that want to fix there credit score.  At first we educate them, then we analyze there credit file, and then we help them dispute every item on there credit file.  We do this by leveraging their rights through the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Q: Who is your ideal client and why?

A: That’s a great question,  I would say everyone is an ideal client.  Everyone has had financial problems at some point in there life and have taken a hit on there credit file.  We’ve had clients from all income types, from multi-millionaires to poverty stricken individuals.

Q: Paint me a picture of what a day in your shoes typically goes like…

A: Well, normally I get up and start making calls from the day before.  I call this the hot list.  I meet with clients at say mortgage brokers, car dealerships, etc, and do live presentations.  I then come into my office and make more calls.  Some days I also have people come to our office and we do public presentations to help get them educated on what we do and why.  A lot of my time is spent on the phone.

Q: What do you love about your industry/niche?

A: I love the fact that I get to help people that have no hope.  A lot of times I hear “nobody can help me.”  After they have been with us and they see the results, I get to see the results of our service by seeing how ecstatic our clients get.

Q: Any rewards, certifications, etc that you would like to brag about?

Q: Have you always been located in Long Beach?

Q: If you could give someone relatively new to your industry/niche any advice or tips, what would that be?

A: The main thing that I would say is to find a system that works, a system that gets results.  If you don’t, you will have a system that will fail you.  Find a training system that works for you.  An acronym that we like to use is SYSTEM and it stands for Save Your Self Time Energy Money.
